Rather than a raw product I purchase, burl cutoffs are a byproduct of cutting Cue Blanks, Call Blanks, Cut Blocks and other dimensional stock, or a slab trimmed from a cap that, for whatever reason, I do not consider suitable for selling as a slab. What I do produce sells quickly, so unfortunately, I do not always have them available. I do not cut burl caps solely to generate cutoffs. That said, if I have sufficient demand and can produce a good salable product, e.g. cut block, to generate cutoffs for orders, I will do so as time permits. If you'll let me know what quantity you would like, I'll do my best to meet all requests - in time. The usual $10-12/lb price for cutoffs is based on a current weight standard (at time I cut), and thus, lower than a burl cap (priced based on supplier harvest weight) so that they will move quickly. While I recognize that the majority of people interested in cutoffs are looking for pieces with natural edge for hybrid casting, I do usually have some non-natural edge cutoffs available that are suitable for small turnings, pens, etc.
